Job Summary
Prepare and maintain the sterile operative area before, during, and after surgery. Place equipment and supplies according to surgeon preference cards, assist with donning gowns and gloves, adjusting instruments, and counting sponges and needles. Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments and supplies. Keep surgeons preference card information current. Respond to emergency procedures within thirty minutes. Cross-train to function adequately in C.S. and receiving and decontamination. Requires graduation from an accredited surgical technology program and proficiency in sterile procedures. Required Qualifications
- proficiency in the application of sterile procedures in an operating room setting
- graduation from a surgical technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation
- immediate response to emergency procedures within thirty minutes to the Hospital
