CSR INTAKE SPECIALIST

The CSR Intake Specialist role provides information and resources to the public to help reduce animal shelter populations. Responsibilities include delivering high-level customer service via phone, email, and in-person interactions; managing intake for animals (assigning case numbers, checking microchips and tags, weighing, vaccinating, preparing kennels, processing sterilization options, and handling fees); enforcing biosecurity procedures; performing animal inventories; following up on microchip records; assisting with adoptions, counseling adopters, and preparing adoption paperwork; operating the front desk, updating shelter information, administering vaccines, microchipping, processing donations, and supporting related duties such as rescue coordination and animal transport as needed. Required qualities include knowledge of shelter procedures, sanitation, safe animal handling, and strong verbal/written communication. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; six months of animal-related experience is preferred; ability to obtain pre-exposure rabies vaccinations within six months of hire; physically able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform other duties as assigned.
