Job Summary
Teach percussion to elementary through advanced students, delivering group classes and individual lessons for 32 weeks and recruiting students to Colburn School programs. Responsibilities include selecting repertoire, coaching sectionals for bands and orchestras, encouraging participation in Colburn ensembles, holding parent conferences, providing counseling on musical development, managing attendance and performance records, maintaining percussion inventory, collaborating with Community School staff, assisting students with recording sessions for auditions and competitions, and participating in recitals, juries, auditions, workshops, and other related duties. Required are an undergraduate or graduate degree in music and prior percussion teaching experience in both group and individual settings, along with strong communication, organizational, and community-networking skills.

- Prior experience teaching percussion in group and individual settings

- Ability to network with faculty and community to recruit students
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly organized
- Ability to see, hear, and use hands for typing and object manipulation (as part of the role)
- Ability to work in a primarily indoor office environment with frequent interruptions
