CS Intake Clerk

Job Summary

Answer and route all incoming telephone calls, greet guests, and direct visitors to the Community Services office in Crowell. Greet customers respectfully, take messages for staff, and maintain an accurate list of absent employees. Gather client documents and enter data into the client tracking software system while providing educational information and referrals. Prepare reports, correspondence, and forms as requested, and maintain tidy filing systems and office inventory. Coordinate office equipment maintenance and ensure confidentiality for all clients and co-workers.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • One year full-time work experience as receptionist or performing other clerical duties
  • Experience answering a multi-line phone system
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of public, employees and management, both orally and in writing using correct business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • Ability to balance a variety of duties, prioritized and meet deadlines
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age to operate a company vehicle
  • Must possess ability to provide reliable self-transportation capable of regional travel
  • Must possess and maintain valid Texas motor vehicle operator's permit of appropriate classification and endorsement
  • Must agree to maintain a satisfactory MVR and minimum requirement of insurability as required by law
  • Must be willing to take and pass a drug/alcohol test and comply with the Drug Free agency policy
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions and procedures required
  • Must be able to pass regular criminal history checks
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with good time management skills and flexibility
  • Ability to type 30wpm
  • Ability and desire to work with diverse populations
  • Possess demonstrated ability of personal computer operations within a Windows Microsoft environment, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must agree to maintain a satisfactory MVR
  • Must agree to comply with the Drug Free agency policy
  • Must agree to undergo MVR background checks
  • Must agree to undergo criminal history checks
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 25 lbs
  • Must be able to adapt to inclement weather conditions and/or situations
  • Must be able to drive, occasionally long distances within the region
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and deal effectively with stress
  • Must be able to perform duties and adapt to flexible work schedules as established by management
  • Must be able to travel for activities such as meetings, classes, and workshops in and out of the service area
  • Must be available for Monday–Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Desired Qualifications

  • One year may be waived provided that the individual has a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
  • Must agree to maintain a satisfactory MVR and minimum requirement of insurability as required by law
