CS Graphics Journalist

Research, develop, and produce compelling data visualizations, infographics, maps, and interactive graphics that enhance storytelling and audience understanding of complex topics. Collaborate with reporters, editors, and digital teams to identify visual opportunities and support news coverage across multiple platforms. Analyze datasets and public records to uncover trends, then design accurate, engaging graphics adhering to editorial standards and brand guidelines. Translate complex information into clear visual content while verifying data accuracy and ensuring proper sourcing before publication. Manage multiple projects simultaneously to deliver graphics on deadline in fast-paced news environments, including rapid creation of charts and timelines for breaking news. Monitor emerging visualization techniques and technologies to improve production efficiency. Contribute to teamwork and facilitate tasks as needed, working independently while meeting VOA standards for productivity and quality. Fluency in a target language and deep knowledge of that area are required alongside English proficiency.
