Job Summary
Be part of the team developing language training materials for Persian Farsi. Create and update training content mirroring language-analyst tasks, collaborating with language instructors and other developers to design, develop, and document language and domain-specific training materials. Develop practical evaluations to test student mastery of learning objectives, and employ tools such as Audacity, Adobe C5S, and Adobe Premiere to build blended online/distance/self-paced learning experiences. Support from SIGINT Operations technical experts and other government/contractor educators to source authentic language materials, including transcription, translation, and analysis of operational exercises, while leveraging ISD-based principles to meet customer requirements and training objectives.
Required Qualifications
- B.A./B.S. in Language, Area Studies, Education, Education Technology, ISD or other directly related discipline
- A speaker with native capability and ILR proficiency level 4 in Persian Farsi (reading, listening, speaking) and ILR proficiency level 2 in English OR native English with ILR 3 in Persian Farsi (reading, listening)
- Minimum five (5) years of experience including: three (3) years SIGINT or Intelligence Community experience as a language analyst and/or language instructor; two (2) years applied practical work experience developing/updating language training materials per ISD principles
- One (1) year experience typing in English and appropriate foreign language fonts (fonts, keyboards, software)
- One (1) year experience within the last 4 years in synchronous/asynchronous instructional systems design and in developing skills-based instruction for adults using web-based/distance learning technologies (e.g., Centra, Blackboard, Questionmark, SumTotal)
- In lieu of degree: 4 additional years of related experience to reach 9 years total
- One (1) year experience with digital audio tools (e.g., Audacity, Sound Forge)
- One (1) year experience collaborating with instructors and developers to design, develop, document language training materials
- Experience using Audacity or similar digital audio tools (preferred)
- Experience with transcription, translation, and analysis of operational exercises
- Ability to collaborate with SIGINT Operations technical experts and government/contractor instructors
