Job Summary
Develop and update language training materials for Arabic-language tasks, mirroring language-analyst duties. Responsibilities include clarifying customer training objectives and language level requirements, prioritizing training requirements, researching and integrating domain-specific resources, and creating materials that cover transcription, translation, and analysis of operational exercises. Collaborate with language instructors and other Government/Contractor developers to design, document, and update language and domain-specific training materials, and develop practical evaluations to test learners’ mastery. Utilize blended delivery methods (online, distance, asynchronous eLearning, self-paced) and tools such as Audacity, Adobe C5S, and Adobe Premiere to produce effective training materials. Work with SIGINT Operations technical experts and instructors to obtain language materials and apply ISD principles. Requires a BA/BS in a related field, native-level Arabic capability with ILR level 4 in reading/listening/speaking and ILR level 2 in English (or native English with ILR level 3 in Arabic), and a minimum of five years’ experience including SIGINT/IC language analysis or instruction and ISD-based materials development. Salary range provided: $78,700 - $165,200.
Required Qualifications
- B.A./B.S. in Language, Area Studies, Education, Education Technology, ISD or other directly related discipline
- Native-level or high proficiency Arabic with ILR level 4 in reading/listening/speaking and ILR level 2 in English (or native English with ILR 3 in Arabic reading/listening)
- Minimum five (5) years of experience including: three (3) years SIGINT or Intelligence Community experience as language analyst/instructor; two (2) years in ISD-based language training materials development
- One (1) year experience with web-based or distance learning technologies (Centra, Blackboard, Questionmark, SumTotal)
- One (1) year experience with synchronous and asynchronous instructional systems design and skills-based instruction for adults
- Ability to type in English and appropriate foreign language fonts
- One (1) year experience with digital audio tools (Desirable: Audacity or Sound Forge)
