Crypto Hardware Repair Technician

Job Summary

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair cryptocurrency mining equipment, including board-level and hashboard repairs. Perform component-level diagnostics using schematics, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and thermal cameras to identify and replace defective parts like ASIC chips and voltage regulators. Execute precision soldering, desoldering, and micro-electronic repairs on PCBs while testing units for stability before returning them to service. Maintain accurate repair logs and analyze data to identify recurring failure trends. Follow established ESD and electrical safety procedures while collaborating with operations to minimize downtime. Requires high school diploma, electronic repair experience, and proficiency with diagnostic tools.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment at the board or component level.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic diagnostic tools.
  • Experience performing soldering, desoldering, and PCB rework.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain detailed repair records and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair priorities.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and work at a repair workstation for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform detailed work requiring manual dexterity and visual inspection of small electronic components.
  • Ability to work safely around powered electronic equipment and testing devices.

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience repairing ASIC cryptocurrency miners (Bitmain, MicroBT, Canaan, or similar).
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience with hashboard diagnostics and ASIC chip replacement.
  • Knowledge of power electronics, voltage regulation circuits, and thermal management systems.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, data center, mining, or electronics repair environment.
