Job Summary
CryoTomo Subject Matter Expert, a senior, customer-facing staff scientist role leading advanced cryo-electron microscopy workflows across the Asia Pacific region. You will provide scientific guidance on workflow optimization and experimental design, support pre-sales engagements, collaborate with sales, product management, and R&D, and serve as a technical authority translating customer requirements into robust workflow improvements and product enhancements. The position emphasizes leadership in technical demonstrations, training materials, and cross-functional collaboration to accelerate customer adoption, with travel up to 60% and active engagement with customers, institutes, and key opinion leaders. Requires a PhD (or equivalent) with substantial hands-on EM/cryo experience, strong communication skills, and a track record in customer-facing scientific support and technical leadership.
Required Qualifications
- PhD with 4+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 8+ years, or Bachelor's with 10+ years in a relevant scientific discipline
- Degree in Structural Biology, Biophysics, Cell Biology, Materials Science, Physics, Engineering, or related field
- Strong experience with electron microscopy, cryogenic workflows, advanced imaging techniques, or related instrumentation
- Demonstrated success in customer-facing scientific, applications, or technical support roles
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Willingness to travel up to 60% across Asia Pacific and occasionally internationally
- Proven ability to collaborate across functions and geographic regions
- Experience with cryo-electron microscopy, cryo sample preparation, tomography, correlative workflows
- Experience supporting advanced research workflows in academia, government laboratories, or industry
- Familiarity with technology adoption, workflow development, or new product introduction activities
- Experience working with leading scientific customers and key opinion leaders
- Scientific publications, conference presentations, or recognized expertise within microscopy community
- Additional Asian language skills advantageous
