Job Summary
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment malfunctions, including crushers, screen plants, and conveyors. Recondition, overhaul, and maintain components while determining part reusability and ordering replacements. Prepare accurate service, inspection, and appraisal reports, then charge work to appropriate segments. Communicate with service writers and shop managers to track repair status. Perform pre-delivery inspections on new and rebuilt units, conduct machine testing, and follow all safety protocols. Maintain a clean work area and stay current with tooling and technology developments.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduation from an accredited technical school in diesel engine or earthmoving repair
- 1 year experience in heavy equipment, engine, or electric power generation system repair
- 1+ years administrative/clerical experience
- 1+ years customer service experience
- Basic ability to search for and enter data into a computer
- Ability to type service reports
- Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills
- Safety & Product Knowledge

Desired Qualifications
- Repair and maintenance on equipment of various manufacturers to include Metso, McCloskey, Masaba and J &M
- Repair/service/rebuild knowledge of Rock Crushers (Jaw, Cone, Impact) both stationary and mobile track units
- Repair/service/rebuild knowledge of Screen Plants both stationary and mobile track units
- Repair/service/rebuild knowledge of Conveyors both stationary and mobile units
- Knowledge of machine conveyor belt replacement/repairs/adjustments
- CAT Engine Tier 4 Emissions/Diagnostics
- Electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting experience (Both Cat and Manufacturer systems)
- Replacement of wear items: Blow bars, cone liners, wear plates, screens, flashing, etc.
- Welding and fabrication
- Machine inspections for Rental Fleet return units and New Machine Pre-delivery
- Graduation from an accredited technical school in diesel engine or earthmoving repair preferred
