Job Summary
Administer medication and implement respiratory care using the evaluate-and-treat process in critical care areas. Perform patient assessments, manage protocol ventilators, and administer aerosolized medications, bronchial hygiene, and oxygen therapy. Conduct arterial blood gas sampling, manage airways including intubation and extubation, and interpret wave form graphics. Educate patients and families, coordinate activities, and mentor students and peers. Complete patient care documentation, verify orders, and promote evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives. Work night shifts with a focus on critical care, cardiac service procedures, and pulmonary diagnostic testing.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Respiratory Therapy or Bachelors Respiratory Therapy
- NBRC-RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist
- RCP - Respiratory Care Professional
- 0-2 yrs clinical experience
- 6-months critical care experience
- Ability to communicate well
- Critical thinking skills
- Establish and maintain working relationships with physicians and other health care professionals
- Computer skills including familiarity with customer relation, assessment, and communication skills
