Job Summary
Provide evaluation and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, assessing treatment needs and developing care plans. Implement and monitor patient care while performing advanced respiratory modalities, evaluating medication administration based on outcomes. Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and available community resources. Respond to emergency resuscitation team calls and assist with equipment calibration, maintenance, and sterilization procedures. Participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment. Work full-time nights (7p-7a) every third weekend at UAB St. Vincent's East.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Alabama Board of Respiratory Therapy
- Certified Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Graduate from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy
