Job Summary
Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, assessing treatment needs and developing care plans based on diagnosis. Implement and monitor patient care plans, perform advanced respiratory modalities, and communicate patient conditions. Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and community resources. Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance, inventory management, and sterilization procedures. Respond to emergency resuscitation team calls. Full-time days and nights shifts (7 to 7 or Sunday 6:30am to 7:00pm) with Saturday availability; PRN options exist. Requires Alabama Board of Respiratory Therapy licensure, NBRC certification, and BLS within 30 days. Located at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham, a trusted provider serving Alabama with over 125 years of legacy.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Alabama Board of Respiratory Therapy
- Certified Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Graduate from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy
