Job Summary
Supervise the safe crossing of school children in designated areas and place or remove traffic control signs to notify motorists. Assist students, parents, and staff with safe access to and from school while communicating policies and enforcing proper crosswalk practices. Report observations and incidents to school personnel and respond to emergency situations addressing immediate safety concerns. Wear an orange safety vest and carry a red hand-held sign to guide traffic. Maintain regular on-time attendance and adhere to all traffic safety rules and school policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School education or equivalent
- Knowledge of traffic safety rules and school policies and procedures
- Ability to lift and/or move speed zone and crossing signs for proper placement
- Must be able to push/pull up to 10lbs and lift/carry up to 10lbs
- Must be able to speak in conversations or other talking
- Must be able to hear conversations and other sounds
- Must have close, distance, color and peripheral vision and depth perception
- Position requires continuous standing and/or walking
- Regular on time attendance
