Job Summary
Supervise and monitor students as they cross streets and school grounds while walking to and from school. Stop traffic when necessary and ensure students comply with school rules while maintaining a safe flow of traffic on and off school grounds. Communicate with community, staff, and students to answer questions and disseminate information. Maintain confidentiality regarding student safety. Perform duties for 2 hours daily during critical times of 7:15am-8:15am and 2:35pm-3:35pm. Requires high school diploma, annual Traffic Safety Association training, and strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to attend and be trained yearly by the Traffic Safety Association
- Knowledge of school policies and safety regulations
- Good communication skills
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and community
- Ability to read and interpret school policies and handbook
- Ability to write simple routine reports
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Must be on time at your job post
