Job Summary
Cross Country varsity coaching role for a season (Aug–Nov) requiring leadership in developing participant skill, safety, and sportsmanship; duties include coaching individual athletes, planning practices and schedules, ensuring safety and compliance with WIAA/Big 8 policies, maintaining attendance and medical records, communicating with booster clubs and the school community, and assisting in budgeting and program operations. Must have coaching experience, first aid/CPR, and knowledge in sports medicine; position entails pre-season planning, in-season practice execution, and post-season equipment management.
Required Qualifications
- Coaching in the particular sport, with at least 3 to 5 years of experience
- Experience at the middle/high school level preferred
- First aid, CPR, and Blood Borne Pathogen training is required
- Knowledge in sports medicine desirable
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operate maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal form
- Ability to plan and execute practice, develop team handbook, and maintain statistics
