Cross Border & Transport Manager

Job Summary
Oversee daily cross-border and domestic trucking operations between Singapore, Malaysia, and other regional markets, managing end-to-end planning, scheduling, and monitoring of truck movements. Develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions, coordinate customs clearance with brokers, and ensure compliance with prevailing service level agreements and trade regulations. Build strategic partnerships with transport vendors, negotiate rates, and source new partners while monitoring performance against KPIs. Act as the primary escalation point for customers, resolving delays and providing shipment updates and performance reports. Lead the Cross Border and Transport team, maintain accurate shipment records, and collaborate with commercial and customer service departments to deliver logistics solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- At least 5 years of experience in freight forwarding or cross-border trucking operations
- Good knowledge of Singapore–Malaysia cross-border procedures and customs regulations
- Knowledge of TradeNet and/or customs declaration systems
- Strong coordination and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
- Effective negotiation and vendor management capabilities
- Effective people management skills
- Possess Tertiary qualifications
- Knowledge of HS codes and tariff classifications
- Familiarity with GPS tracking systems or transport management systems (TMS)
- Knowledge freight costing and pricing
