Crop Insurance Specialist

Job Summary
Interact with customers and agents to obtain information for underwriting risks, prepare quotes for MPCI, Hail, Livestock, and Named Peril policies using AIP systems, and maintain crop insurance information for insureds' APH. Submit and transmit acreage and production reports, report claims with proper documentation, and monitor payments. Manage tickler systems for renewals and addendums, assist in reconciling accounts, and process mail. Stay current on USDA legislative changes through training and help train new employees on crop insurance duties. Perform backup support for other areas, represent the Bank at civic events, and provide personal banking services as needed. Work generally during normal business hours with unscheduled evening, weekend, and Saturday availability, plus potential out-of-town travel.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds of office supplies and equipment
- Some bending, turning, and twisting required
- Work hours are generally during normal business hours
- Unscheduled evening and weekend work will be needed
- Work on some Saturdays will be required
- Out-of-town and overnight business travel may be required
- Strong ethical focus
Desired Qualifications
- 2-5 years previous banking and crop insurance servicing experience preferred
- Understanding of farming operations, crop cycles & federal crop insurance programs
- Stay up to date on USDA & Federal legislative changes to insurance requirements through training or continuing education
- Strong attentions to detail
- basic computer effective interpersonal & communication abilities
- Customer service focused
- Resourceful, well organized, and ability to multi-task
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
