Job Summary
Conduct field inspections and measure storage bins to assess damage for multi-peril crop insurance, hail, and named peril claims. Perform fact-finding to determine loss causes and percentages, applying independent judgment while communicating regulations to claimants and agents. Escalate unresolved issues to the Area Claims Supervisor and continuously expand knowledge of RMA rules and ProAg procedures. Cover a Texas territory with up to 75% travel, working from home and visiting farms to settle claims until completion.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Crop insurance experience in claims or compliance or any ag-related experience and background
- Analytical skills and attention to detail
- Basic computer and internet applications
- Communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Reliable means of transportation
- Willingness to travel
- Travel of up to 75%
- Completion of your Claim Adjuster Proficiency Program (CAPP) certification and/or any applicable licenses required by State agencies
