Job Summary
Crop Consultant with Nutrien Ag Solutions develops new prospects and engages existing growers to grow agricultural inputs sales and meet/exceed sales goals; manages sales to meet profit margins; ensures customer satisfaction with products including on-time delivery and quality; develops and implements strategies to increase sales of proprietary products; consults with growers on agricultural issues and prescribes actions to resolve issues; performs initial credit reviews to understand credit risk and provides information to Credit Manager to determine credit limits; collects outstanding accounts receivable; and performs other duties as assigned. Requires engagement with growers, advising on agricultural solutions, and leveraging knowledge of agricultural chemicals and industry practices to drive sales and maintain credit discipline.
Required Qualifications
- University degree preferred, in lieu of degree, 5+ years agriculture experience and high school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years’ experience using standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the agriculture industry, as well as the application of agricultural chemicals
Desired Qualifications
- Sales experience preferred
- University degree preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- 2+ years’ experience in agriculture industry
- Experience consulting with growers on agricultural issues
- Ability to manage accounts receivable and credit risk
