Job Summary
CRNA at UPMC Shadyside administers anesthesia and provides peri-anesthesia care in a high-volume tertiary academic setting, collaborating with supervising physicians, surgeons, and a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include pre-anesthetic preparation, induction, maintenance, emergence, post-anesthesia care, and peri-anesthesia support; adherence to controlled-substance policies and regulatory standards; assisting with teaching and evaluating SRNAs and GRNAs; ensuring informed consent and correct surgical site documentation; participating in Quality Improvement processes; and leveraging a structured career ladder with opportunities for advancement, relocation support, and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia education program
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Board Certified, Recertified or eligible by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
- CPR as per AHA standards with skills demonstration within 30 days of hire
- AHA-approved ACLS/PALS certifications as required by institution upon hire
- BLS/CPR
