Job Summary
The CRNA is responsible for preoperative assessment of patient status, ordering preoperative medication, administering medications for sedation or anesthesia, inserting arterial and venous catheters, and monitoring patients during anesthesia until they regain consciousness. Responsibilities also include part-time supervision of anesthesia trainees and involvement with the Code 88 team for resuscitation efforts. A valid NJ-RN license, AANA Council certification, and current ACLS certification are required.
Required Qualifications
- Current NJ-RN license
- AANA Council eligibility/certification
- Current ACLS
- Maintains CEU status according to AANA Council on Re-Certification
- Confirmation of credentials to the hospital Credentials Committee
- APN certification or pending application as required
