Job Summary
Provide anesthesia under the direction of an anesthesiologist for diverse surgical procedures and diagnostic tests. Participate in the clinical instruction of nurse anesthesia students while performing duties according to department policy and procedures. Maintain Alabama Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist licensure, BLS, and ACLS certifications. Work in a collegial environment supporting over 50,000 annual procedures across 53 operating rooms. Flexible scheduling options available for this full-time position.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program
- Alabama Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist license
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Self-directed / self-motivated
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform a variety of duties often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure
- Ability to accept responsibility for the direction, control and planning of one's own work
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to recognize the rights and responsibilities of patient confidentiality
- Ability to convey empathy and compassion to those experiencing pain, physical or emotional distress and/or grief
