Job Summary
Provide anesthesia under the direction of an anesthesiologist for diverse surgical procedures and diagnostic tests, including participation in the clinical instruction of nurse anesthesia students. Perform a variety of duties often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency, accepting responsibility for the direction, control, and planning of your own work while working independently. Maintain patient confidentiality, convey empathy to those experiencing distress, and communicate effectively with people from every socioeconomic, cultural, and educational background. Demonstrate flexibility in an ever-changing healthcare environment and perform effectively when confronted with emergency, critical, or unusual situations. This full-time position offers flexible scheduling options, a sign-on bonus up to $45,000, and a monthly stipend for new hires participating in an Earn To Learn program. The team includes 15 anesthesiologists and more than 70 CRNAs providing services across 53 operating rooms and surgical suites.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program
- Alabama Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist license
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Self-directed / self-motivated
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform a variety of duties often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure
- Ability to accept responsibility for the direction, control and planning of one's own work
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to recognize the rights and responsibilities of patient confidentiality
- Ability to convey empathy and compassion to those experiencing pain, physical or emotional distress and/or grief
- Ability to relate to others in a manner which creates a sense of teamwork and cooperation
- Ability to communicate effectively with people from every socioeconomic, cultural and educational background
