Job Summary
Provide anesthesia under the direction of an anesthesiologist for diverse surgical procedures, diagnostic tests, cardio-thoracic surgeries, and cardiac catheterizations. Participate in clinical instruction of nurse anesthesia students. Requires graduation from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program, current CRNA certification by the Alabama Board of Nursing, and certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS. Flexible weekday and weekend shifts available. UAB Medicine serves over 1.2 million patients annually across Alabama and offers a full range of clinical specialties from cancer and transplantation to trauma and same-day surgery.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program
- Currently certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) with Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Specialty by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Currently certified with Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Currently certified with Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Currently certified with Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
