CRNA – Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

CRNA provides anesthesia care per clinical privileges, assists with data review related to patient history and planned procedure, maintains a safe environment with emergency response, administers medications and fluids per safe practice standards, monitors airway and anesthesia depth intraoperatively, completes perioperative documentation (surgical safety checklist, pre-operative assessment, intra-operative record, transfer of care notes), logs incident reporting, and performs other duties as assigned. Education required is completion of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor.
