Job Summary
Operate, perform maintenance, and service repairs on critical data center systems including UPS, PDUs, diesel generators, ATS equipment, building controls, and chillers. Respond to safety and emergency situations while maintaining a secure work environment, utilizing a Critical Maintenance Management System to plan and track work. Develop reliability reports to ensure 100% uptime and coordinate with vendors to protect facility equipment. Create required Method of Procedure, Standard Operating Procedures, and Emergency Operating Procedures for all maintenance activities. Work 10 or 12 hour shifts with a shift differential, requiring reliable transportation and the ability to work weekends, late nights, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with the maintenance and repair of industrial electrical and mechanical systems in mission-critical facilities
- Experience with emergency generators, fuel delivery systems, and parallel switchgear
- Experience with electrical distribution including MV/LV switchgear and associated controls
- Experience with critical and essential PDUs, UPS, and switchgear
- Experience with HVAC, air handling units, and computer grade cooling systems
- Experience with building monitoring and control systems
- Knowledge of operating, maintaining, repairing, inspecting, and testing critical electrical distribution systems
- Knowledge of operating, maintaining, repairing, inspecting, and testing HVAC systems
- Knowledge of operating, maintaining, repairing, inspecting, and testing building management/automation equipment
- Ability to read commercial building blueprints
- Ability to understand electrical single lines and schematics
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures related to mechanical and electrical systems needed to run data centers
- Technical writing skills and experience creating, coordinating, updating, and modifying MOPs/SOPs/EOPs for critical facilities equipment
- Experience supporting new systems and researching technical requirements
- Reliable transportation for reporting to work for shifts or emergencies
- Ability to stand 1/3 – 2/3 of the time
- Ability to walk 1/3 – 2/3 of the time
