Job Summary

Manage critical data center infrastructure by performing maintenance and service repairs on UPS systems, diesel generators, ATS equipment, chillers, and building controls. Respond to safety and emergency situations while operating independently within a team environment to maintain 100% uptime for mission-critical facilities. Coordinate with vendors, create Method of Procedure and Standard Operating Procedures, and use a CMMS to track work and develop reliability reports. This onsite role in San Antonio, TX, requires frequent customer contact and the ability to adapt workflows as priorities shift.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with the maintenance and repair of industrial electrical and mechanical systems in mission-critical facilities
  • Experience with emergency generators, fuel delivery systems, and parallel switchgear
  • Experience with electrical distribution including MV/LV switchgear and associated controls
  • Experience with critical and essential PDUs
  • Experience with UPS systems
  • Experience with switchgear
  • Experience with HVAC systems
  • Experience with air handling units
  • Experience with computer grade cooling systems
  • Experience with building monitoring and control systems
  • Knowledge of operating, maintaining, repairing, inspecting, and testing critical electrical distribution systems
  • Knowledge of operating, maintaining, repairing, inspecting, and testing HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of operating, maintaining, repairing, inspecting, and testing building management and automation equipment
  • Ability to read commercial building blueprints
  • Ability to understand electrical single lines and schematics
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures related to mechanical and electrical systems needed to run data centers
  • Technical writing skills and experience creating, coordinating, updating, and modifying MOPs/SOPs/EOPs for critical facilities equipment
  • Experience supporting new systems and researching technical requirements
  • Reliable transportation for reporting to work for shifts or emergencies
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check

  • Ability to use hands to handle or feel objects
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms

Desired Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with the maintenance and repair of industrial electrical and mechanical systems in mission-critical facilities
  • Work experience in the electrical or mechanical field
  • Strong emphasis on technical skills and training with intent to obtain a license within a reasonable time
  • Experience obtaining a license in a reasonable time
