Job Summary
Monitor and respond to alarms across power, cooling, and fire systems, performing physical inspections to ensure infrastructure operates within defined parameters. Respond to faults and incidents, prioritizing actions and determining escalation needs, while carrying out operational switching to prevent unplanned outages. Support planned maintenance by monitoring contractors and ensuring strict adherence to safety procedures and approved methods of operation. Document incidents, maintenance activities, and observations to support continuous improvement. This site-based role focuses on planned works and overall reliability during business hours for CDC's expanding Melbourne data centre facility.
Required Qualifications
- Australian Citizenship
- ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Critical Infrastructure experience
- HVAC experience
- Electrical trades experience
- trade or technical background in Electrical
- trade or technical background in Refrigeration/HVAC
- trade or technical background in Mechanical
- Experience working in critical or high‐availability environments
- Exposure to monitoring or control systems such as BMS, EMS, or SCADA‐type platforms
- Familiarity with complex infrastructure or plant equipment (e.g. HVAC systems, power systems, generators, fire systems)
- Strong fault‐finding, problem‐solving, and situational awareness skills
- The ability to produce clear documentation, logs, and post‐incident reports
