Critical Environment Technician - Industrial/Commercial Electrician

Job Summary
Monitor and respond to alarms across power, cooling, and fire systems while performing physical inspections to ensure infrastructure operates within defined parameters. Respond to faults and incidents, prioritizing actions and determining escalation needs, then carry out operational switching and control activities to prevent unplanned outages. Support planned maintenance and monitor contractors on site, ensuring strict adherence to safety procedures and approved methods of operation. Document incidents, maintenance activities, and observations to support continuous improvement. This site-based role focuses on planned works, maintenance, site logistics, and overall reliability during business hours at CDC's new Maddington data centre.
Required Qualifications
- Australian Citizenship
- ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance
- qualified electrician
- experience in environments where uptime, safety, and attention to detail matter
Desired Qualifications
- Electrical trades with commercial/industrial experience
- A trade or technical background in Electrical
- Experience working in critical or high‐availability environments with strong safety and compliance requirements
- Exposure to monitoring or control systems such as BMS, EMS, or SCADA‐type platforms
- Familiarity with complex infrastructure or plant equipment (e.g. HVAC systems, power systems, generators, fire systems)
- Strong fault‐finding, problem‐solving, and situational awareness skills
- The ability to produce clear documentation, logs, and post‐incident reports
