Critical Care Veterinary Technician - Part Time

Job Summary
Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment, then treat critically ill and injured patients. Administer blood transfusions, vasopressors, and pain medications while placing long-lines and setting up mechanical ventilators. Perform in-house diagnostics, laboratory testing, and prepare samples for outside labs. Monitor hospitalized patients, record organized rounds, and collaborate with DVMs on treatment plans. Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures. Provide client education on home care, medications, and wellness updates. Work part-time Friday mornings and alternating weekends in a fast-paced emergency environment.
Required Qualifications
- Veterinary Assistant or Registered Veterinary Technician
- 2+ years of experience in emergency and/or critical care medicine
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment
- Proficient in medical math: comfortable calculating drug doses and making CRIs
- Comfortable with high acuity cases and humane euthanasia
- Must pass a drug screen and background check
