Critical Care Veterinary Doctor Coordinator

Job Summary
Directly supports specific doctors for a given shift and may support different doctors within the department. Ensures follow-through of departmental workflow, collaborates on scheduling of consults, transfers, and diagnostics, and delegates team responsibilities. Acts as point of contact for referral partner transfers/inquiries when doctors are unavailable. Drafts medical record documentation, creates initial patient histories, vital statistics, treatment orders, and scribe/referral/discharge letters. Monitors communications, assists with outpatient procedures, may escort clients, and may mentor team members. Coordinates prescription refills, supports client communication about care plans, and contributes to maintaining exam rooms and clinical workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Prior veterinary experience required
- previous emergency experience desired
- Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary
