Job Summary
Delivers safe, effective, and independent nursing care in the Intermediate Care Unit, performing thorough patient assessments and developing individualized care plans for patients requiring continuous monitoring, titratable drips, and continuous bipap. Documents care accurately in electronic records, identifies learning needs for patients and families, and recognizes cultural differences to personalize support. Functions within an interdisciplinary team, delegates appropriately, and assumes Charge Nurse responsibilities when assigned. Collects and analyzes data to improve patient care, participates in quality improvement initiatives, and maintains required professional development points. Requires BLS and ACLS certifications with an orientation period of four weeks.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years
- Recent completion of a re-entry nursing program
- Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience within the past five years
- Current LPNs employed within the Emory Healthcare (EHC) system who have completed an accredited RN program and obtain RN licensure
- RN Resident Program
- Emory ADN program
- Valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Active compact/multistate license (eNLC)
- 36-75 lbs lifting capability
- 20-35 lbs lifting capability
- 10-20 lbs lifting capability
- Lifting 75 lbs max
- Carrying of objects up to 35 lbs
- Occasional to frequent standing & walking
- Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)
- Blood-borne pathogen exposure tolerance
- Bio-hazardous waste tolerance
- Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors tolerance
- Communicable diseases tolerance
- Electrical shock tolerance
- Floor Surfaces tolerance
