Job Summary
ECMO specialist participates in the development of a treatment plan, involving assessment, planning, implementation, and education. Communicates with the ECMO physician and other members of the healthcare team to interpret, adjust and complete treatment specific to the ECMO patient care plan. This role offers day and night shift flexibility under the mentorship of a director, with a focus on critical care within a Magnet-designated hospital at Methodist Dallas Medical Center (DeSoto, TX). Requires a Bachelor’s degree, ECMO training/education in Extra Corporeal Circulation, and licensure as an RN in Texas (or RRT NBRC or CCP) with BLS and ACLS, plus a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience. Includes a $15,000 sign-on bonus and up to $4,000 in relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Completion of a designated ECMO training program, and/or formal education in Extra Corporeal Circulation
- Registered Nursing License issued by the State of Texas Board of Nursing
- Or RRT-Registered Respiratory Therapist License and
- Current NBRC – National Board of Respiratory Care
- Or CCP – Certified Perfusion License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association
- Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience
