Job Summary
CRITICAL CARE NURSE or PARAMEDIC role in MedFlight MICU providing advanced nursing/paramedic care for patients transported via the MedFlight Mobile Intensive Care Unit. Responsible for accessing, organizing, intervening, and directing patient care in coordination with Medical Control; ensuring compliance with CAMTS requirements and documentation; collaborating with Paramedics/nurses per established protocols; participating in external education/marketing initiatives; and contributing to a patient-centered, safety-focused transport operation. The position offers schedule flexibility with base-specific shifts, in-house education, competitive pay with shift differentials, and opportunities for career and personal growth within a mission-driven medical transportation team.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN licensure or Paramedic licensure in the State of Ohio
- Minimum three (3) years active RN experience in Emergency Department, Trauma Center, or ICU in a hospital setting OR 3 years active Paramedic experience
- Certification as a Paramedic and completion of MedFlight’s orientation program
- Ability to quickly and safely transport patients using available resources and prioritize requests
- Strong understanding of emergency transportation procedures and their application in medical transport
- Ability to assess and prioritize patient needs, formulate treatment plans, and modify care as necessary
- Proven ability to work under stress with patients, families, and in dynamic environments
- Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal and external personnel and represent MedFlight to the public
