Job Summary
Administer life support treatments within the Critical Care Paramedic scope, safely operate and maintain emergency vehicles, and deliver competent patient care in various settings. Apply EMS procedures in practical situations, interact professionally with healthcare personnel, and maintain clear communications with the Dispatch Center. Document information accurately in the charting system, assist fellow providers with comprehensive reports, and handle station upkeep, equipment maintenance, and restocking supplies. Adhere to company and local agency policies and protocols while demonstrating professional, ethical behavior. Maintain first aid readiness for injured coworkers as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous EMT experience
- Current Paramedic license and Critical Care Paramedic certification/licensure (state specific)
- Current CPR
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Strong clinical knowledge and decision-making skills
- Good communication, interpersonal skills and emotional stability
- Ability to safely operate EMS vehicles and essential equipment
- Bend, sit, kneel, and lift up to 125 lbs; push/pull objects over 50 lbs
- Maintain physical agility for safe patient handling in demanding environments
- Tolerate extended periods of driving or riding in an ambulance
- Perform effectively in physically strenuous and emotionally challenging situations
Desired Qualifications
- In states without mandatory Critical Care Transport requirements, must hold and maintain national board certification as a Critical Care Paramedic (e.g., CCP-C from IBSC or equivalent)
