Job Summary
Responds to emergent and non-emergent calls and/or hospital codes; provides medical support and care for patients in pre-hospital and/or hospital environments; assists in ongoing assessment to determine best course of treatment; delivers advanced medical care and basic life support using appropriate equipment and modalities; may perform patient-care tasks in hospital settings under RN supervision based on training and capabilities; shift pattern includes two 18-hour shifts per week; dual state licensure requirements for Wisconsin and Minnesota; certifications required include BCLS, ACLS, and PALS; eligible for tuition reimbursement and comprehensive benefits; this role is part of Essentia Health's EMS initiative in Superior, WI.
Required Qualifications
- State licensure/certification as a Paramedic or a Registered Nurse authorized to operate as a Paramedic in the appropriate state of practice
- All Wisconsin location staff must be dual licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification required at time of hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification required at time of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification (or must obtain within 6 months of hire)
- Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as verified through appropriate licensing agency
- Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health 's insurer
- State Background check must provide clearance to work with vulnerable adults
