Job Summary
Conduct personal safety assessments and provide emergency care for high acuity patients, including airway management, ventilator support, and administration of multiple medications and blood products. Manage IV pumps and perform patient transport while maintaining accurate record keeping and data collection. Mentor junior staff through teaching and feedback, and communicate effectively with physicians and external agencies. Maintain current Alabama Critical Care Paramedic licensure and pass continued evaluation by the EMS Medical Director. Available for on-call rotation and flexible scheduling to meet department staffing needs.
Required Qualifications
- Current Alabama license as a Critical Care Paramedic
- FPC/CCP-C
- ACLS
- PALS
- BLS
- BTLS/PHTLS
- 3 years as a licensed Paramedic
- 1 year as a primary care provider in the pre-hospital environment
- Must be approved by the EMS Medical Director through continued evaluation
- capable of working overtime as required
- flexible to scheduling to meet the department and hospital staffing needs
- Available for on-call when required
- Possess knowledge of, or the ability to gain, skills necessary to administer care under critical care protocols and guidelines established by the medical director and/or the ADPH
