Job Summary
Perform Apheresis procedures autonomously in critical care, emergency rooms, and outpatient centers, including plasma exchange, red cell exchange, and stem cell harvests. Manage venipunctures, central line access, and equipment QC while assessing patient status and coordinating with physicians. Act as a consultant to external healthcare personnel and explain procedures to patients and families. Work variable Monday-to-Friday shifts with rotating on-call requirements. No prior apheresis experience is needed; comprehensive training is provided.
Required Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
- CPR certification
- Bachelor's degree OR a combination of education and work experience
- Two years of experience in medical/surgical or critical care nursing
- Good vein selection and venipuncture skills
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively discuss procedures and medical issues with patients, families, and physicians
- A current, valid driver's license
- A good driving record
- COVID-19 vaccination status (fully vaccinated or approved exemption process initiated)
