Job Summary
Perform autonomous therapeutic apheresis procedures in critical care, emergency rooms, and outpatient centers, including plasma exchange, red cell exchange, leukapheresis, stem cell harvests, and photopheresis. Assess patient status relative to procedures, evaluate medication compatibility, and coordinate closely with physicians to arrange treatments and facilitate care. Perform venipunctures, access central venous catheters, and maintain supplies and equipment in a state of readiness. Work variable Monday-to-Friday first shifts with rotating on-call duties. No prior apheresis experience required; comprehensive training provided.
Required Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
- CPR certification
- Bachelor's degree OR a combination of education and work experience
- Two years of experience in medical/surgical or critical care nursing
- Good vein selection and venipuncture skills
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively discuss procedures and medical issues with patients, families, and physicians
- A current, valid driver's license
- A good driving record
- COVID-19 vaccination

- Previous apheresis or dialysis experience
