Job Summary
Perform Apheresis procedures autonomously in critical care, emergency rooms, and outpatient centers, including plasma exchange, red cell exchange, leukapheresis, stem cell harvests, and photopheresis. Assess patient status relative to therapeutic apheresis using the nursing process and laboratory results, while acting as a consultant to external health care personnel. Coordinate treatments with physicians and nurses across various hospitals and manage venipunctures, central line access, and supply maintenance. Operate in a variable 1st shift Monday through Friday schedule with rotating on-call duties, requiring current state licensure, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, and a valid driver's license. Full COVID-19 vaccination is required for all new hires.
Required Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
- CPR certification
- Bachelor's degree OR a combination of education and work experience
- Two years of experience in medical/surgical or critical care nursing
- Good vein selection and venipuncture skills
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively discuss procedures and medical issues with patients, families, and physicians
- A current, valid driver's license
- A good driving record
- COVID-19 vaccination status (fully vaccinated or approved exemption process initiated)
