Job Summary
Diagnose, manage, and treat all patients in the Intensive Care Unit, providing expert care for life-threatening conditions. Coordinate multidisciplinary care, teach staff, participate in quality improvement activities, and collaborate with specialists across disciplines. Maintain direct patient care while ensuring high-quality outcomes in a team-based setting. Requires 42 weekly scheduled hours.
Required Qualifications
- Must be licensed by the Louisiana State board of Medical Examiners to practice medicine
- Current BLS and ALS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross
- The ILCOR course must include a manikin check-off
- ALS required by specialty only
- Must possess good physical health
- Lifting at least 20 pounds is required
- Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise
Desired Qualifications
- Board Certified in Critical Care or Emergency Medicine is preferred
- Proven expertise in ICU procedures and critical care management
- Patient care and procedural skills
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
- Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care in a team based setting
