Job Summary
Provide full-time, night-shift pediatric acute care services as a Physician Assistant in a pediatric hospital setting, collaborating with physicians and an interdisciplinary team to manage hospitalized pediatric and young adult patients, including admissions, stabilization, fluids/antibiotics/pain and sedation control, and access to 24/7 backup from a Pediatric Intensivist and trauma/burn surgeon. Responsible for patient loads of 2-5 with average overnight admissions of ~1.5; work with a focus on critical and non-critical inpatient coverage, including monitoring and coordination of care. Requires Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and NCCPA Board Certification, with demonstrated capability in pediatric acute/critical care and disaster/stress management.”,
Required Qualifications
- Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies
- NCCPA Board Certification
- Pediatric acute care experience or competency to manage hospitalized pediatric and young adult patients
- Ability to manage fluids, antibiotics, pain and sedation control, vasopressor medications, and basic stabilization of patients in shock or respiratory distress
