Critical Care/ICU Nurse - Trainee (Designated Indigenous)

Job Summary
Provide professional registered nursing services for patients with complex and unpredictable health needs in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. Deliver independent nursing care, administer prescribed treatments, assume a leadership role within the healthcare team, and coordinate patient care and discharge planning. Meet CRNM registration requirements and maintain ongoing professional development, including CCNOP completion within four months of hire. Demonstrate knowledge of RHPA and ethical standards, evidence-based practice, cultural safety, trauma-informed care, and compliance with privacy and safety acts. Must have 1 year of recent acute care experience and be able to work a 0.80 FTE schedule (days, nights, weekends) in person; BLS is required and ACLS is an asset. Strong communication, prioritization, and adaptability skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program
- Successful completion of Critical Care Rhythms Course (CCNOP) within four months of date of hire
- Active CRNM registration
- Basic Life Support (provider level)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support training an asset
- 1-year recent acute care experience
- Ability to work 0.80 FTE with in-person shifts (days/nights/weekends)
- Demonstrated critical thinking and prioritization in a demanding environment
- Cultural safety and trauma-informed care experience or awareness
