Job Summary
Conduct critical care float pool duties across General Cardiac, CVICU, MICU, Neuro ICU, and Surgical ICU, managing patient populations ranging from STEMI to post-op CABG and neuro trauma. Perform high-acuity skills including vent care, hemodynamic monitoring, CRRT, and ICP monitoring while reading tele strips and utilizing Plum 360 IV pumps. Maintain a 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM shift with weekend rotations every other week, adhering to a 13-week contract and 36 or 48 hours per week. Submit to this Alabama-only travel role requiring 24 months of float pool experience, a valid AL license, and two charge references from the last 12 months.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience
- Alabama license or compact license
- Must be able to float to multiple units
- Must live >60 miles from facility
- 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB
- No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB
- First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years' experience
- Cerner or Epic experience
- CRRT preferred for Surgical ICU
- Weekend rotation: every other weekend
- May work back-to-back weekends
- One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy
- Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week
- May float to like units/patient locations: MS-MS, MS-ICU task, MS-ER/MS holds; ICU-ICU, ICU-MS task or limit of 3, ICU-ER/ICU holds
- 2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- RN
