Job Summary
Provide critical care float pool coverage across General Cardiac, CVICU, MICU, Neuro ICU, and Surgical ICU, managing patient populations ranging from STEMI to post-cardiac arrest and acute respiratory failure. Deliver daily care including vent management, hemodynamic monitoring, medication titrations, CRRT, and trach care while reading tele-strips and operating Plum 360 IV pumps and Omnicell systems. Work day shifts rotating every other weekend with flexible contract hours of 36 or 48 per week. Maintain an Alabama or compact license and hold 24 months of critical care float experience, with a preference for Cerner and CRRT skills.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience
- Alabama license or compact license
- Must be able to float to multiple units
- Must live >60 miles from facility
- 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB
- No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB
- First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years' experience
- Cerner or Epic experience
- CRRT preferred for Surgical ICU
- Weekend rotation: every other weekend
- May work back-to-back weekends
- One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy
- Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week
- May float to like units/patient locations: MS-MS, MS-ICU task, MS-ER/MS holds; ICU-ICU, ICU-MS task or limit of 3, ICU-ER/ICU holds
- 2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- RN
- Registered license
