Job Summary
Conduct critical care float duties across ICU, PCU, Med-Surg, rehab, ED holding, and COVID overflow areas, managing patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, GI bleeds, and post-operative cases. Interpret cardiac rhythms, manage invasive lines, titrate IV medications including Amiodarone and dopamine, and perform ostomy care and trach management. Provide telemetry competency and adhere to patient ratios of 1:2 in ICU and 1:5 in Med-Surg. Requires 24 months Critical Care Float Pool experience, 3 months Epic, Washington license, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. 15-week contract starting September 2026, 12-hour day shifts, three shifts weekly.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience with 1 months worked in the last 6 months
- 3 months of Epic experience
- Washington license or compact license
- COVID vaccination
- 12 months gap between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - MultiCare Health System
- no current placement at Program: SimpliFi Program - MultiCare Health System
- 2 years of PCU experience
- ICU: cardiac rhythm interpretation, vent management, invasive line management, ostomy care, general drains, trachs
- PCU: cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, lumbar drains, trachs, and required IV med titration (Amiodarone, Cardizem, nitro, dopamine, dobutamine, non-DKA insulin, heparin; sometimes Cardene)
- Med-Surg: IVs, PCAs, chest tubes, drains, ostomies, IV antibiotics
- Traveler telemetry competency

- 1-time 6-hour suicide prevention training
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- 1 Manager/Supervisor references from within the last 12 months
- 14 days maximum time off
