Job Summary
Manage critical care float pool duties across ICU, PCU, Med-Surg, rehab, ED holding, and COVID overflow areas, interpreting cardiac rhythms, managing invasive lines, and titrating IV medications including amiodarone, cardizem, and nitro. Provide ostomy care, trach management, and chest tube monitoring while adhering to patient ratios of 1:2 in ICU and 1:5 in medical/surgical units. Utilize Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis systems to deliver care for respiratory failure, sepsis, and post-operative patients. Requires 24 months of float pool experience, a Washington license, and 3 months of Epic proficiency. Contract runs 15 weeks with 12-hour day shifts, 3 times weekly, and a maximum of 14 days time off.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience with 1 months worked in the last 6 months
- 3 months of Epic experience
- Washington license or compact license
- COVID vaccination
- 2 years of PCU experience
- ICU: cardiac rhythm interpretation, vent management, invasive line management, ostomy care, general drains, trachs
- PCU: cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, lumbar drains, trachs, and required IV med titration (Amiodarone, Cardizem, nitro, dopamine, dobutamine, non-DKA insulin, heparin; sometimes Cardene)
- Med-Surg: IVs, PCAs, chest tubes, drains, ostomies, IV antibiotics
- Traveler telemetry competency

- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- 14 days maximum time off
- 2 Manager/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
