Job Summary
Conduct critical care float pool duties across ICU, PCU, Med-Surg, rehab, ED holding, and COVID overflow areas, managing patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, GI bleeds, and post-operative cases. Interpret cardiac rhythms, manage invasive lines, administer IV med titrations including dopamine and dobutamine, and perform ostomy and drain care. Operate Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis systems while adhering to patient ratios of 1:2 in ICU and 1:5 in Med-Surg. Maintain BLS and ACLS certifications and complete required suicide prevention training. Submit with a Washington license, 12 months of recent critical care experience, and 3 months of Epic proficiency. Start date flexibility impacts selection; expect interviews via 501 area code.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience with 1 months worked in the last 6 months
- 3 months of Epic experience
- Washington license or compact license
- COVID vaccination
- 2 years of PCU experience
- ICU: cardiac rhythm interpretation, vent management, invasive line management, ostomy care, general drains, trachs
- PCU: cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, lumbar drains, trachs, and required IV med titration (Amiodarone, Cardizem, nitro, dopamine, dobutamine, non-DKA insulin, heparin; sometimes Cardene)
- Med-Surg: IVs, PCAs, chest tubes, drains, ostomies, IV antibiotics
- Traveler telemetry competency

- BLS (Basic Life Support)

- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- 14 days maximum time off
- 2 Manager/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
