Job Summary
Manage critical care float pool duties across ICU, PCU, Med-Surg, rehab, ED holding, and COVID overflow areas, handling respiratory failure, GI bleeds, sepsis, and post-operative patients. Provide cardiac rhythm interpretation, invasive line management, and IV med titration including Amiodarone, dopamine, and dobutamine. Utilize Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis systems while adhering to patient ratios of 1:2 in ICU and 1:5 in Med-Surg. Maintain 12-hour day shifts with a 15-week contract starting September 2026, requiring a Washington license, 24 months of float experience, and 3 months of Epic proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience with 1 months worked in the last 6 months
- 3 months of Epic experience
- Washington license or compact license
- COVID vaccination
- 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - MultiCare Health System
- no current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - MultiCare Health System
- 2 years of PCU experience
- ICU: cardiac rhythm interpretation, vent management, invasive line management, ostomy care, general drains, trachs
- PCU: cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, lumbar drains, trachs, and required IV med titration (Amiodarone, Cardizem, nitro, dopamine, dobutamine, non-DKA insulin, heparin; sometimes Cardene)
- Med-Surg: IVs, PCAs, chest tubes, drains, ostomies, IV antibiotics
- Traveler telemetry competency

- 1-time 6-hour suicide prevention training
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- 1 Manager/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
- 14 days maximum time off
